Go back to school and learn how to make gin with Tarquin’s? Yes please
by Abi Purvis
Ever wanted to learn how to make your own gin? Well now you can with Tarquin’s gin masterclasses.
The Cornish gin company are offering a unique experience, in groups of up to 12, to teach you how to make your very own one-of-a-kind gin at Tarquin’s Gin School.
Visitors will be first shown the distilling process and Tarquin’s experiments, whilst enjoying tasters at the school in the centre of Padstow.
Then the exciting bit; they will be given the opportunity to make their own gin by hand with a step by step masterclass.
Additionally, visitors will also label, wax, and sign their own bottle — which they’ll also get to take home to enjoy later!
They’ll even be indulged to a few trade secrets too!
You’ll be able to be just like Tarquin in 2012, using a delicate small copper pot over a stove, to craft your own delicious gin.
The school provides a range of locally grown botanicals for you to test and experiment with in your gin.
Alternatively, you can bring your own special botanicals if you have something from your own garden, or from your travels, if you have a particular desire to concoct your own uniquely flavoursome gin.
In just a couple of hours, you’ll be able to call yourself a creative and certified gin maker.
A perfect activity to do whilst on a Staycaytion in Cornwall.
This unique experience is just £85 per person and is a great activity for gin lovers (who are over 18 years old).
To be compliant with covid-rules guests will be required to wear a mask, socially distance, and hand sanitise on entry to the building.
Tours are available at midday on Wednesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s. You can book for yourself or a loved one here: https://www.tarquinsgin.com/tarquins-gin-school/
